The Sphinx's Secret Friend
Lily sat in her attic, surrounded by dusty boxes. Her grandmother had given her an old iPhone that didn't make calls anymore, but Lily didn't mind. She loved pressing the buttons and watching the screen light up like a tiny moon.
One rainy afternoon, Lily found a mysterious app she'd never seen before. It showed a picture of a golden sphinx with sparkling eyes. When she tapped it, the screen shimmered like rainbow candy, and a tiny sphinx flew out!
"Greetings, friend!" said the sphinx, hovering in the air. "I am Cleo, guardian of forgotten toys."
Lily's eyes grew wide as saucers. "A real sphinx! In my attic!"
Celo landed on a pile of stuffed animals. "I'm here because I sensed someone with a big imagination. But I need help finding my friend — he's lost somewhere in this house."
"Who's your friend?" Lily asked.
"A zombie named Zippy," Cleo said. "But don't worry! He's the friendliest zombie you'll ever meet. He loves helping people and telling jokes."
Lily had never heard of a nice zombie before, but she nodded bravely. "Let's find him!"
They searched everywhere — under beds, inside closets, even behind the old bookshelf. Finally, in the corner of the basement, they found a small toy zombie with bright green hair and a big smile.
"There you are!" Cleo cheered.
Zippy sat up and grinned. "I was waiting for someone with enough magic to see me. Real friendship isn't about how someone looks — it's about what's in their heart."
Lily realized Zippy was right. She had made two new friends who looked completely different from anyone else she knew, but they were kind and fun.
From that day on, whenever Lily felt lonely, she would tap the special app on her old iPhone. Cleo and Zippy would appear, and they would have amazing adventures together — flying to candy kingdoms, dancing with fireflies, and having picnics on clouds made of cotton candy.
Lily learned that the best friends might not look like everyone expects them to, and magic lives wherever you have imagination and an open heart.
