The Sphinx's Secret Court

High above the clouds, where stars played tag and comets raced across the sky like shooting fireballs, lived a lonely Sphinx. Unlike most sphinxes who loved riddles, this one couldn't solve a riddle to save her life. But she had a secret passion — she adored padel, the magical tennis game played with special paddles and a bouncy ball.

Every night, the Sphinx swatted at meteors with her golden wings, calling it "cosmic padel." But playing alone wasn't any fun at all.

One evening, she peered through her sparkly telescope and spotted Lily's room far below. Inside, a goldfish named Fin swam endless circles around his bowl, watching with wide eyes as a fluffy calico cat named Mittens chased dust bunnies across the carpet. Fin looked so wistful, wishing he could leap and pounce too.

That night, when Fin made a desperate wish upon a falling star — "I wish I could jump and play like Mittens!" — the Sphinx caught his wish in a bubble of magic and whisked him, bowl and all, up to her cloud kingdom.

"Welcome!" the Sphinx boomed happily. "I saw you watching that cat. You looked like you wanted to adventure!"

Fin was amazed! "You're a Sphinx! Aren't you supposed to ask me riddles?"

"Oh, I'm terrible at riddles," the Sphinx admitted. "But I'm great at padel! Want to learn?"

Fin was nervous. "I'm just a goldfish. I can't hold a paddle."

The Sphinx waved her paw, and suddenly Fin was surrounded by a bubble of water that floated in the air, with tiny paddle-fins attached to his sides! He could move and swish and play!

They played padel until dawn, the ball bouncing between stars and comets. But when Fin returned to his bowl, he looked sad. "Mittens will never believe my adventure."

The Sphinx smiled. "Who said you have to choose?" She granted Fin the magic to visit every night, and Fin told Mittens all about it. Soon, the Sphinx invited Mittens too, and every night they played padel together under the stars.

Fin learned that wishes can come true in the most unexpected ways. The Sphinx learned that friendship is better than being perfect. And Mittens? She learned that the best adventures are the ones you share with friends.

And if you look up at the stars on a clear night and see something sparkling and bouncing around, that's just Fin, Mittens, and the Sphinx, still playing their favorite game — together.
