The Sphinx's Riddle Phone

Lily's wild red hair always stuck out in every direction, like flames dancing in the wind. Her mom said it was full of magic. One rainy afternoon, while digging through her toy box, she found something strange—a golden cable she'd never seen before. It glimmered and sparkled as if it were made of tiny stars.

"What are you?" Lily whispered, wrapping the golden cable around her wrist like a bracelet.

Suddenly, her iPhone began to glow with purple light! The screen swirled like a galaxy, and a Sphinx's face appeared—except this Sphinx had rainbow feathers instead of fur and kind eyes that twinkled like sapphires.

"Greetings, young friend!" the Sphinx said. "I am Zara, Guardian of the Riddle Realm. My hair of clouds has lost its fluffiness, and I need your help to restore it!"

Lily's eyes went wide. "How can I help?"

"You must solve three riddles," Zara explained. "Each answer will create a magical vitamin that will make my clouds fluffy again!"

The first riddle appeared on Lily's phone: *I fall from above but don't hurt a bit. I make rainbows when the sun appears. What am I?*

"Rain!" Lily shouted.

*Correct!* A tiny golden vitamin floated out of her screen and into the air.

The second riddle: *I have no voice but tell stories. I have no leaves but grow. What am I?*

Lily thought hard. "A book!"

*Wonderful!* Another vitamin appeared, this one sparkling blue.

The last riddle: *I'm free but can't be caught. I'm visible but have no shape. I'm different for everyone who sees me. What am I?*

Lily smiled. "Imagination!"

*You are clever and kind!* The Sphinx beamed. The three vitamins flew together into Lily's golden cable, which transformed into a beautiful silver brush.

"Use this to brush my cloud hair," Zara instructed.

Lily reached through her phone screen and gently brushed the Sphinx's cloudy hair with the silver brush. Each stroke made the clouds fluffier and softer, like cotton candy. When she finished, Zara's hair was magnificent—puffy pink and white clouds that floated gently around her face.

"Thank you, Lily!" Zara said. "Your imagination saved my realm. Now, whenever you need me, just hold your golden cable and think of riddles."

The Sphinx disappeared in a burst of rainbow sparkles. Lily's hair felt different too—softer and shinier than before. She touched the golden cable still wrapped around her wrist and smiled.

Some secrets, she realized, are worth keeping. And the best adventures are the ones you can return to anytime you want.

From that day on, Lily wore the golden cable everywhere, hidden beneath her sleeve. Her hair still stuck out wildly, but now she knew—it wasn't just messy hair. It was magic, waiting for the next adventure.
