The Sphinx's Riddle Phone
Lily loved exploring her grandmother's attic. One rainy afternoon, she found something peculiar tucked inside an old trunk—a mysterious iPhone with a crescent moon etched on its back.
"What a funny old phone," Lily whispered, tapping the screen.
Suddenly, the room swirled with golden sparkles! Lily felt herself spinning, spinning, spinning until she landed on soft sand beneath a purple sky filled with twinkling stars.
"Who dares wake the ancient one?" rumbled a deep voice.
Before Lily stood a magnificent sphinx with eagle wings and wise, knowing eyes. Behind the sphinx peeked a clever little fox with russet fur.
"I'm Lily," she said bravely. "Where am I?"
"You are in the Land of Riddles," the sphinx announced. "To return home, you must answer my question correctly. But first—meet Felix the fox. He will be your helper."
The fox trotted forward, his tail wagging. "Don't worry! I've helped many children. The sphinx's riddles are tricky, but together we can solve anything."
Lily noticed something amazing. When she looked at the magical iPhone in her hand, it showed her pictures—hints and clues that appeared like magic!
"Listen carefully," said the sphinx. "I have wings but cannot fly. I have eyes but cannot see myself. I have a mouth but cannot taste. What am I?"
Lily's heart pounded. She looked at Felix, who whispered, "Think about what clues the iPhone shows you!"
The phone flashed an image of a weather vane, then a mirror, then a river. Lily's eyes lit up.
"A river!" she exclaimed. "It has wings—that's what we call the parts at the sides. It has eyes—that's what we call the source. It has a mouth—that's where it flows into the sea! But it can't fly, see itself, or taste!"
The sphinx smiled, and its wings fluttered with pride. "Correct! You have shown wisdom and used your helper well."
Felix the fox danced around happily. "We did it! Friendship makes us smarter!"
The sphinx touched Lily's forehead with a gentle paw. "Remember, little one—some puzzles are too big to solve alone. Never be afraid to ask for help."
Golden sparkles swirled around Lily once more, and she found herself back in the attic, clutching the ordinary iPhone. But now it had a new note on the screen: *Thank you, brave and wise friend.*
Lily smiled, knowing that kindness and cleverness, shared with friends, were the greatest magic of all.
