The Sphinx's Riddle
Lily loved exploring her grandmother's magical garden. One sunny afternoon, while running between rows of sparkling flowers, she discovered something amazing—a golden sphinx resting near the papaya tree!
The sphinx opened one emerald eye. "Hello, little one," it purred in a voice like honey. "I've been waiting for someone kind and brave."
Lily's eyes grew wide. "Waiting for what?"
"To solve my riddle and help my friend," the sphinx said. "What's orange and sweet, but has a secret inside?"
Lily thought hard. "A papaya!"
"Correct!" The sphinx smiled. "Now, follow me."
They walked to the garden's edge where a sad-looking zombie sat slumped against a fence. But this zombie wasn't scary at all—he had floppy blue hair and wore polka-dot pajamas!
"This is Zed," the sphinx explained. "He's under a sleepy spell. He needs magical papaya to wake up."
Lily rushed to the papaya tree and picked the perfect fruit. Carefully, she sliced it open. Beautiful golden glow spilled out!
Zed's nose twitched. "Is that... papaya?" he mumbled. His eyes fluttered open, sparkling like stars. "Thank you!"
"You were running through my dreams helping me," Zed said happily. "Now I can finally play!"
The sphinx nodded. "You showed kindness and quick thinking, Lily. True magic isn't just about spells—it's about helping friends."
From that day on, Lily, Zed, and the sphinx had wonderful adventures together. And every time they shared papaya, they remembered: the best magic comes from a kind heart.
