The Sphinx's Magical Vitamins

Lily's fingers trembled as she held her mom's old iPhone. The screen flickered with strange symbols she'd never seen before. Suddenly, a golden light burst from the glass, swirling like a miniature tornado.

"Hello, brave one," a deep, kind voice rumbled. From the light emerged a tiny sphinx no bigger than a teacup, with emerald eyes that twinkled like stars.

"I'm Ruby," the sphinx purred, stretching her small wings. "I've been waiting for someone with a curious heart."

Lily's eyes widened. "But you're a sphinx! You're supposed to be enormous and guard ancient tombs!"

Ruby laughed, the sound like wind chimes. "Size isn't what makes you mighty, dear one. It's what's inside. And I need your help."

The sphinx explained that magical courage vitamins had been scattered across the world by a forgetful wizard. Without them, children were losing their belief in impossible dreams. The iPhone was actually a magical map powered by friendship.

"Each vitamin appears when someone performs a truly kind act," Ruby said. "Will you help me collect them?"

Lily nodded eagerly. Together, they discovered vitamins wherever kindness bloomed: when Lily helped her little brother tie his shoes, when she shared her lunch with a lonely classmate, when she comforted a crying friend who'd lost their favorite toy.

Each vitamin glowed with rainbow light and tasted like sunshine mixed with berries.

With every vitamin collected, the iPhone's screen showed more children rediscovering their courage and dreams. A shy girl raised her hand in class. A scared boy tried riding his bike without training wheels.

At last, only one vitamin remained. Ruby looked at Lily with knowing eyes. "The final vitamin appears when you do something kind for yourself."

Lily thought hard, then picked up her art supplies and drew the most magnificent picture of Ruby. As she finished, a golden vitamin materialized, shimmering with joy.

Ruby nuzzled Lily's cheek. "You've restored magic to the world. Remember, little one: true courage comes from kindness—to others AND to yourself."

The sphinx dissolved into golden sparkles, but the iPhone remained special. Now, whenever Lily needs courage, she sees Ruby's reflection in the screen, whispering: "You already have everything you need inside you."
