The Sphinx's Magical Puzzle

Lily was playing in her garden when her golden **dog**, Buster, started barking at something behind the old oak tree. A sleek orange **fox** peeked out, its eyes shining with mischief!

'Hello there!' said the fox, in a surprisingly friendly voice. 'My name is Felix. Could you help me? I've discovered something magical!'

Curious, Lily followed Felix through a secret doorway in the tree trunk. They arrived in a sparkling cave where an ancient **sphinx** sat guarding a beautiful crystal pond.

'I am the Guardian of Riddles,' the sphinx announced with warm, wise eyes. 'Many adventurers come seeking my treasure, but only those with pure hearts may pass. My most precious friend — a magical **goldfish** named Goldie — has been trapped in a spell for one hundred years. To free her, you must solve three puzzles!'

Lily's heart raced with excitement. 'I'll help!'

'First riddle,' said the sphinx. 'What has four legs in the morning, two legs at noon, and three legs in the evening?'

Lily thought hard. 'A person! Babies crawl on all fours, grown-ups walk on two legs, and elderly people use a cane!'

'Correct!' The sphinx smiled. 'Second riddle: What can fill a room but takes up no space?'

Felix the fox twitched his tail. 'Light!'

'Wonderful!' cheered the sphinx. 'Last riddle: What is more precious than gold but cannot be bought?'

Buster barked happily and licked Lily's face. She laughed. 'Friendship and love!'

The sphinx clapped with joy. Suddenly, the crystal pond bubbled and glowed. A tiny **goldfish** with shimmering scales swam to the surface, now free from the spell!

'Thank you!' Goldie said, her voice like tiny bells. 'You've shown that kindness and cleverness are the greatest magic of all!'

The sphinx gave each friend a special gift: Lily received a necklace that sparkled like stars, Felix got a cloak that made him swift as wind, Buster was given magical treats, and Goldie could now visit them through any pool of water.
