The Sphinx's Magical Phone
Lily was just tapping games on her iPhone when something strange happened. The screen began to sparkle like stardust, and a tiny golden face popped out — a miniature sphinx no bigger than her thumb!
"Help me!" squeaked the little sphinx. "I'm stuck between worlds!"
Lily's room swirled with rainbow light. Suddenly, she wasn't in her bedroom anymore. She stood in a desert of golden sand under a sky painted with two moons.
"Running!" cried the sphinx, now lion-sized and majestic. "The Sun-Chaser is coming!"
Lily grabbed the sphinx's furry paw and they were off, running over dunes that shimmered like honey. Her iPhone glowed in her pocket, somehow still working in this magical world.
The Sun-Chaser was a magnificent golden lion that chased the sunset across the sky. But today, it was chasing something else — it was chasing its own tail, going in endless circles and making the desert days last forever.
"I used my last riddle to trap it," the sphinx explained proudly. "But now I forget how to solve it!"
Lily looked at the Sun-Chaser running in circles. She thought about how she used to run in circles when she was confused too.
"Maybe it doesn't need to chase anything," Lily said softly. "Maybe it just needs to stop running and enjoy where it is."
The sphinx's emerald eyes widened. "Of course! The riddle's answer was inside all along!"
The sphinx roared a mighty riddle: "What runs everywhere but goes nowhere if it chases its own tail?"
"ME!" shouted the Sun-Chaser, suddenly stopping. golden light burst from its mane. The two moons aligned, and perfect sunset colors painted the sky.
Lily's iPhone buzzed. It showed her own room again — but now, on her nightstand, sat a tiny golden sphinx statue.
"Thank you, friend," the sphinx whispered, its voice echoing from the statue. "You taught me that sometimes wisdom isn't about knowing answers. It's about seeing what's already there."
Lily hugged the statue. Her iPhone had brought her an adventure, but friendship had brought her home. Every night now, she checks her phone before bed. Sometimes, just sometimes, the screen still sparkles with stardust, reminding her that magic is real — especially when you're brave enough to run toward it.
