The Sphinx's Magical Garden

Lily loved exploring the forest behind her house. One sunny afternoon, she followed a trail of glowing orange butterflies until she reached a hidden gate covered in sparkling vines.

"Who seeks the garden of wonders?" a deep voice rumbled.

Lily looked up and gasped. A golden sphinx with emerald eyes sat atop the gate! Her wings shimmered like rainbows.

"I'm Lily," she whispered bravely. "I love adventures."

The sphinx smiled. "Then answer my riddle: What is green and leafy but makes you strong?"

"Spinach!" Lily cheered. "My grandpa grows it in his garden!"

"Correct!" The sphinx opened the gate. Inside, the most beautiful garden stretched before her. But something strange moved between the flowers—a lumpy green figure!

Lily hid behind a bush. Was it a monster?

"Please don't go," the figure sighed. "I'm not scary. I'm Ziggy the zombie gardener."

Peeking out, Lily saw Ziggy wasn't frightening at all. He wore overalls and held a tiny watering can. His skin was green, but his smile was warm and friendly.

"A zombie? But zombies are scary in stories!" Lily stepped closer.

"Only because people don't know us," Ziggy said sadly. "I just love helping plants grow. See this orange tree? It grows magic oranges that make people feel happy."

He pointed to a tree with glowing fruit. "And the spinach? It gives anyone who eats it the courage to try new things."

Lily's eyes widened. "That's amazing! Can I help you garden?"

Ziggy's face lit up. "I'd love a friend!"

Together they planted seeds, watered flowers, and harvested magic vegetables. The sphinx watched approvingly.

"True magic," she said wisely, "is friendship and kindness. Lily, you learned not to judge someone by how they look. Ziggy, you found someone brave enough to see the real you."

Lily skipped home with a basket of magic spinach and oranges. Her family would never believe her adventure, but she knew the most important lesson: sometimes the scariest-looking creatures have the kindest hearts.

And every week, she returned to the garden to help her friend Ziggy, the zombie who grew love in every seed.
