The Sphinx's Magical Baseball Game
Lily loved baseball more than anything. Every day after school, she'd grab her glove and run to the park, dreaming of hitting the perfect home run. One sunny afternoon, as she was practicing under an orange sky, something magical happened.
A beautiful sphinx with golden wings landed right on the pitcher's mound. Lily gasped—but the sphinx smiled kindly.
'I challenge you to a game,' the sphinx purred. 'Three riddles. If you win, you receive a special gift. If I win... I become your zombie teammate!'
Lily giggled. A zombie teammate sounded funny, not scary. 'I accept!'
The sphinx asked her first riddle about friendship. Lily answered easily. The second riddle was about courage. Lily thought of her teammates and answered with confidence.
For the final riddle, the sphinx asked, 'What makes you stronger than any superhero, but you can't see it?'
Lily thought hard. Then she remembered something important. 'Love! And kindness! They make your heart strong.'
The sphinx roared with delight. 'Correct! You win!'
From her golden feathers, the sphinx pulled a sparkling vitamin that glowed like a tiny star.
'This is the Vitamin of Bravery,' she explained. 'Whenever you feel afraid, hold it close and remember how brave you truly are.'
Lily took the magical gift and thanked the sphinx. 'Will you still play baseball with me?'
'Always,' said the sphinx, and together they played the most wonderful game under the orange sunset.
That night, Lily placed the Vitamin of Bravery on her nightstand. She learned that courage was already inside her, and sometimes the best adventures come from being brave enough to say yes to the unexpected.
