The Sphinx's Magic Vitamins
Lily loved exploring her grandmother's attic. Rain pattered on the roof as she dug through dusty boxes. Suddenly, something sparkled—a small golden pyramid with a tiny door.
Inside was a whole world! Lily shrank until she fit through the door. She found herself in a sunny desert where a giant Sphinx sat, looking sad.
"Hello," said Lily bravely.
"Oh!" The Sphinx's eyes widened. "A human! I'm Zephyra, and this is my friend Bones." A little green zombie shuffled forward, holding a tray of glowing orange candies.
"Hi Bones!" Lily waved. The zombie smiled and made a happy groaning sound.
Zephyra sighed. "Bones tries his best, but I'm still so tired. These magic vitamins give me energy, but I can't reach the highest shelf where they're kept."
Lily looked up at the tall shelf. "I can climb!"
She scampered up like a squirrel and grabbed the vitamin bottle. The orange candies pulsed with warm light. Zephyra took one and instantly perked up, her golden mane shining brighter.
"Thank you, little friend!" Zephyra purred. "Bones has been trying for weeks. Even a helpful zombie needs friends sometimes."
"Friends help each other," Lily said, eating a vitamin herself. It tasted like sunshine and strawberries.
"Stay for tea?" Bones grunted happily, setting up tiny cups.
Lily played with them all afternoon. When it was time to leave, Zephyra pressed a vitamin into her hand. "For whenever you need magic. Remember: even the strongest creatures sometimes need help, and even the smallest friends can do big things."
Lily climbed back through the golden door, the warm vitamin in her pocket. Some adventures are small, but they can teach the biggest lessons.
