The Sphinx's Magic Vitamin

Lily discovered the ancient stone sphinx half-buried in her grandmother's garden, its wings folded like sleeping butterflies. The sphinx had emerald eyes that sparkled like morning dew.

"I've waited centuries for someone brave enough to solve my riddle," the sphinx spoke, its voice sounding like wind chimes. "What gives you energy, makes your bones strong, and comes in colors like sunshine oranges and grassy greens?"

Lily thought hard. "Vitamins! Like the ones in my orange juice!"

The sphinx smiled, and its stone paw opened to reveal a glowing golden vitamin. "You're correct, young adventurer. This Magic Vitamin grants one wish. But first, you must help my friend Zombi."

Behind the sphinx stumbled Zombi—not a scary zombie like in movies, but a friendly one with patchy blue skin and a crooked smile. Zombi looked sad.

"I forgot who I'm supposed to be," Zombi mumbled.

Lily realized Zombi wasn't dead at all—just forgotten, like a toy left under a bed. She took the Magic Vitamin and crushed it into sparkly dust. "I wish Zombi could remember his true self!"

The vitamin dust swirled around Zombi like golden fireflies. His blue patches turned smooth and warm. His eyes brightened like lanterns.

"I remember!" Zombi cheered. "I'm Zombi, Guardian of Fun! I used to make children laugh until they forgot about magic and believing."

The sphinx nodded wisely. "Sometimes friends just need someone to believe in them. That's the strongest vitamin of all."

Lily learned that day that the best magic isn't in pills or potions, but in friendship and believing in others. Every morning, she takes her real vitamins, but she also spreads kindness—the most powerful magic she knows.

Now Lily, Zombi, and the sphinx have secret garden adventures, reminding every child they meet that everyone deserves to be seen and believed in.
