The Sphinx's Magic Puddle

Lily loved running through her grandmother's garden, especially on rainy days. Today, the gray sky flashed with lightning, making the whole world sparkle.

Behind the old oak tree, she found something magical—a tiny sphinx no bigger than a kitten, with golden fur and wise purple eyes. The sphinx looked sad.

"I've lost my sparkle," the sphinx said in a voice like chimes. "Without the magic vitamin from the Crystal Pool, I'll fade away."

Lily's heart went out to the little creature. "I'll help you!"

The sphinx led her to a puddle that shimmered like liquid rainbow. But the magic vitamin floated at the bottom, impossible to reach. Then lightning flashed again, and Lily had an idea.

"Wait! I know what to do!"

Lily ran to the garden shed and grabbed her empty butterfly net. She returned to the crystal pool and knelt beside the sphinx.

"Together," Lily whispered. "On three, we'll both reach. One, two, three!"

The sphinx stretched her tiny paws while Lily leaned in with the net. Their fingers—or was it the sphinx's claws?—brushed the glowing blue vitamin at the same time.

Lightning struck nearby, and the puddle erupted in sparkles! When the light faded, the sphinx glowed brighter than ever.

"You did it!" The sphinx danced in the air. "You showed me that the real magic isn't in any vitamin. It's in having a friend who believes in you!"

Lily smiled as the sphinx sprinkled magic dust over her garden. The lightning storm had passed, leaving behind something better than sunshine—friendship.

From that day on, whenever Lily went running through the garden, the sphinx would appear, and they would have adventures together. Because sometimes, the best magic doesn't come from vitamins or pools or lightning.

It comes from kindness, courage, and a friend who never gives up on you.
