The Sphinx's Magic Pool
In a hidden garden where flowers sang and butterflies told jokes, there lived a very special sphinx named Cleo. Unlike other sphinxes you might read about, Cleo didn't have golden fur or mysterious eyes. Her most amazing feature was her hair—a fluffy, curly rainbow mane that changed colors with her mood!
One sunny afternoon, a young girl named Maya wandered into the garden. She had followed a trail of sparkling blue butterflies that led her to Cleo's magic pool. The water shimmered like liquid diamonds, and strange fish with tiny wings swam just below the surface.
"Hello, little one," Cleo purred. Her hair turned soft pink because she was happy to have a visitor. "Would you like to see the pool's magic?"
Maya nodded, her eyes wide with wonder. She noticed that Cleo's hair was the most beautiful hair she had ever seen—much more interesting than her own plain brown hair.
The sphinx smiled warmly. "Touch the water and make a wish, but it must be for someone else."
Maya dipped her fingers into the cool pool. She thought about her grandmother, who couldn't see pretty things anymore because her eyesight had grown cloudy. "I wish my grandmother could see something beautiful."
The pool glowed golden! Suddenly, an image appeared in the water—it was Maya's grandmother's garden, but now all the flowers were glowing with soft light. Even better, Cleo's rainbow hair reflected in the water, creating dancing colors across the surface.
"Your wish has been granted," Cleo said. "But there's more magic."
Maya watched as her own reflection in the pool changed. Her brown hair now shimmered with hints of rainbow, just like Cleo's!
"Your hair has always been special," Cleo explained. "It just needed someone kind enough to see it. The magic pool shows the truth."
From that day on, Maya's hair sparkled with tiny rainbows whenever she helped others. And sometimes, when she visited the garden, she and Cleo would splash in the magic pool together, their colorful hairs swirling in the water like two beautiful galaxies.
Maya learned that true beauty comes from kindness, not from how you look—and that sometimes, the most amazing magic is the love we share with others.
