The Sphinx's Magic Palm Tree

Lily loved exploring her grandmother's backyard, especially the old **palm** tree that towered above the fence. One hot afternoon, she discovered something amazing—a tiny golden **bull** no bigger than her thumb, sleeping beside the tree's roots!

"Hello there," Lily whispered. The bull stretched and spoke in a voice like jingling bells. "I'm Benjamin! I've been trapped here for days. The Great **Sphinx** of the Garden put a spell on me!"

Lily's eyes widened. "A real sphinx? Like in stories?"

Benjamin nodded. "She guards the magic behind this palm tree. But she's lonely. Nobody visits her anymore."

Lily's heart went out to the lonely sphinx. "I'll be your **friend**," she told Benjamin. "And I'll help you find the sphinx!"

Together they squeezed through a secret hollow in the palm tree. Inside sparkled a magnificent cave where an enormous sphinx sat, her lion-tail twitching sadly.

"I've waited so long for someone brave enough to visit," the sphinx rumbled kindly. "You have a kind heart, child. For that, I give you these." She held out glowing orange candies. "These are **vitamin** stars—one taste gives you courage, two give you wisdom, and three give you the power to help others."

Lily took one and felt warmth spread through her. "Thank you! But Benjamin needs your help too."

The sphinx smiled and touched Benjamin with her golden claw. POOF! He became big enough to ride!

"Now you can have adventures together," the sphinx said. "But remember—true magic isn't in spells or vitamins. It's in kindness and friendship."

Every day after school, Lily visited her magical friends under the palm tree. And sometimes, when she needed extra courage, she'd take a vitamin star. But mostly, she just needed her friends.

For Lily learned that the best magic of all is having someone who believes in you.
