The Sphinx's Magic Lightning

Lily was vacationing in Egypt with her family, but she felt lonely. Her parents were busy taking photos, so she wandered behind the Great Sphinx alone. That's when she noticed something strange — the stone lion's eye twinkled.

"Hello, small one," a rumbly voice echoed. Lily gasped as the Sphinx's stone paw moved!

"Y-you can talk?" she stammered.

"I can do many things," the Sphinx said mysteriously. "But I've lost something precious. My magic lightning bolt that guards the pyramids has vanished. Without it, darkness will swallow Egypt's tombs."

Lily wanted to help, but how? She held out her empty palm sadly. "I wish I had magic powers."

"Perhaps you do," the Sphinx smiled. "Show me what you carry in your pocket."

Lily pulled out her iphone. "It's just my phone. My mom gave it to me so I wouldn't get lost."

"Ah, but this is no ordinary device!" The Sphinx's eyes glowed golden. "This 'phone' captures light, stores memories, and connects hearts across distances. That is powerful magic indeed."

Suddenly, Lily's iphone screen began to glow — not with its usual light, but with crackling blue lightning! The magical bolt shot from her screen and returned to the Sphinx's stone forehead.

"Thank you, brave Lily!" the Sphinx boomed. "You taught me something important. Magic isn't just about ancient spells. It lives in courage, in kindness, and in the connections we make with others — even through small glowing screens."

Lily waved goodbye as the Sphinx returned to stone, its eye giving her a secret wink. She ran back to her parents, her heart full of wonder. Some things, she realized, were more magical than any photograph could capture.

That night, Lily noticed her iphone battery was completely full, even though she hadn't charged it. But the real magic was something she carried inside now — the knowledge that even ordinary children can do extraordinary things, simply by being brave and kind.
