The Sphinx's Lightning Garden
In the heart of Whispering Valley lived a tiny sphinx named Cleo, no bigger than a pumpkin. Unlike the giant stone sphinxes in storybooks, Cleo had soft golden fur, sparkling emerald eyes, and wings like a dragonfly. She guarded the Magical Lightning Garden, where bolts of lightning fell from the sky every full moon, turning into glowing crystals that granted wishes.
One rainy afternoon, a shivering cat named Mittens scrambled into Cleo's cave. "A grumpy bear is chasing me!" she cried. Cleo wrapped her wings around the trembling cat. Just then, a massive bull with horns like twisted branches appeared at the cave entrance. But he wasn't chasing Mittens. "There you are, little one!" the bull rumbled gently. Behind him, the bear peeked out—she wasn't grumpy at all, just worried.
"We're searching for our friend, the Lightning Spirit," the bear explained softly. "Only she can stop the terrible drought in our forest."
Cleo's emerald eyes widened. "The Lightning Garden! The lightning crystals can help!" She led them through the valley as the first drops of rain fell. Suddenly—CRACK! A magnificent bolt of lightning struck the garden, transforming into a brilliant crystal that floated toward Cleo.
"Make your wish!" Cleo whispered.
The bull wished for endless grass, the bear for sweet berries, and Mittens for a warm home. The Lightning Spirit swirled around them, sprinkling glowing dust that instantly brought their wishes to life—and sent gentle rain falling across the entire valley.
From that day on, the bull, bear, cat, and tiny sphinx were best friends, meeting every full moon to watch the magical lightning dance together.
