The Sphinx's Kindness Garden
Lily loved exploring her grandmother's magical garden. Every afternoon, she would skip past the rosebushes and wave at the talking sunflowers. But today, she heard a strange sound.
"Groooaaan..."
Lily followed the noise to the far corner of the garden, where a magnificent sphinx sat guarding the oldest tree. His golden wings shimmered in the sunlight, and his wise eyes held centuries of secrets.
Beneath the tree sat a small green creature — a zombie! But this zombie wasn't scary like in stories. He had patches of orange fur and a friendly smile, even though he looked a bit messy.
"What's wrong?" Lily asked, sitting beside him.
The zombie pointed sadly at the tree. "Hungry. But tree guard won't let me near."
The sphinx spoke softly, "I protect this tree because its magical oranges give courage to anyone who needs it. But why should I share with a zombie?"
Lily thought carefully. "Maybe he needs courage too?"
The zombie nodded. "Want to help my friends. They're scared of everything. I want to be brave like you, Mr. Sphinx."
The sphinx's eyes twinkled. "You wish to help others? That is the bravest thing of all." He stretched his wing toward the tree, and a perfect orange dropped into the zombie's hands.
"Thank you!" The zombie took a bite, and suddenly his green patches turned a bright orange. He glowed with confidence.
Lily learned something wonderful that day: true courage isn't about being big or powerful. It's about wanting to help others, even when you feel small and scared yourself. And sometimes, the most unexpected friends make the best ones.
