The Sphinx's Green Surprise

Lily loved exploring her grandmother's backyard, especially on hot summer days. The old stone pool at the bottom of the garden had dried up years ago, but Grandma said magical things still happened there.

One afternoon, while Lily was examining the dusty pool bottom, she noticed something sparkling. She brushed away leaves and dirt to reveal a tiny golden pyramid no bigger than her thumb! As she picked it up, the ground beneath her rumbled.

Out of the shadows crept a small sphinx, only the size of a cat, with soft lion fur and wise eyes. "Greetings, young explorer," the sphinx purred. "I am Cleo, guardian of the Pyramid of Wishes. You have found it!"

Lily's eyes widened. "A wish? Can I really make a wish?"

Celo nodded. "But first, you must solve my riddle: What grows green but makes you strong, what Popeye loves to eat all day long?"

Lily thought hard. She loved riddles! "Spinach!" she cried out.

"Correct!" Cleo cheered. "And here is your lesson — strength comes from the most unexpected places."

The tiny sphinx touched her paw to the golden pyramid, and suddenly the dry pool filled with sparkling water. "This pool now shows the future," Cleo explained. "Look inside."

Lily peered into the water and saw herself as a scientist, discovering amazing things to help people. "I want to help others!" she declared.

"Then remember," Cleo whispered, "kindness is the greatest strength of all. Be like spinach — small but mighty!"

Lily hugged the little sphinx. "Thank you, Cleo!"

From that day on, Lily visited her magical friend often, learning that adventure awaits those who are curious, and true power comes from a kind heart. And sometimes, she even ate her spinach without complaining!
