The Sphinx's Golden Secret

Lily loved exploring her grandmother's garden, especially on hot summer days. One afternoon, she discovered something magical—a shimmering blue **pool** hidden behind the rosebushes. The water sparkled like diamonds, and tiny golden fish darted beneath the surface.

As Lily leaned closer, a voice rumbled, "Who wakes me from my thousand-year sleep?"

Lily gasped as a magnificent creature rose from the water. It had the body of a lion, the wings of an eagle, and a human face. A **sphinx**!

"I'm Lily," she whispered. "Why are you sad?"

The sphinx sighed, and tears rolled down her cheeks. "I've lost my magical golden **hair**. Without it, I cannot fly home to the stars."

"Thank you!" cried the sphinx as her hair flowed like liquid sunshine. "You've taught me something important: even when we feel powerless, friends can make us strong again."

She gave each friend a gift—a moonflower for Lily, golden horns for the bull, and a star-studded collar for the dog. Then she soared into the sky, her hair trailing like a comet.
