The Sphinx's Golden Riddle

Lily loved exploring her grandmother's attic. It was full of dusty treasures and secret surprises. One rainy afternoon, she found something peculiar—a small orange crystal pyramid that glowed like a tiny sun.

"What's this?" Lily whispered, turning it in her hands.

Suddenly, the attic dissolved into golden sand. Lily stood before a magnificent stone pyramid, its peak reaching toward clouds painted pink and purple by sunset. At the base sat a creature unlike anything she'd ever seen—a sphinx with the body of a lion and the head of a wise woman with long flowing hair the color of moonlight.

"Welcome, young traveler," the sphinx spoke, her voice like wind through chimes. "I am Cleo, guardian of the Pyramid of Dreams. You have awakened the ancient magic."

Lily's eyes widened. "This is real?"

"As real as you believe it to be," Cleo smiled. "But to return home, you must answer my riddle."

A challenge! Lily loved puzzles. She nodded bravely.

Cleo's hair shimmered as she spoke: "I have no voice, yet I speak to all who listen. I have no wings, yet I can help you fly. I have no hands, yet I can hold you tight. What am I?"

Lily thought hard. She looked at the orange crystal pyramid still clutched in her hand. She thought about stories her grandmother told—tales of courage, kindness, and dreams.

"Imagination!" Lily cried out. "It speaks to us in stories and dreams. It helps us fly anywhere we want. And it holds us tight when we're scared."

Cleo's eyes sparkled like stars. "Correct, young dreamer. You have shown wisdom beyond your years."

The sphinx touched Lily's forehead with a gentle paw. "Remember this: the greatest magic lives inside you. Whenever you need adventure, just close your eyes and believe."

The golden sand swirled around Lily. When it settled, she was back in the attic, the orange pyramid warm in her hand. But something had changed—Lily felt different. Braver. More magical.

She ran downstairs to show her grandmother. "Nana! You won't believe where I went!"

Her grandmother smiled knowingly, her eyes twinkling. "Oh, I think I just might, my dear. The attic has always been full of magic for those with enough imagination to find it."

That night, Lily dreamed of sphinxes and pyramids, knowing the greatest adventures were always just a daydream away.
