The Sphinx's Golden Padel
Lily discovered something strange behind the old oak tree—a miniature golden pyramid no bigger than her lunchbox. As she leaned closer, the pyramid's top slid open, and out popped a tiny sphinx with emerald eyes and wings like a dragonfly.
"I am Cleo," announced the sphinx. "And you've found my secret home!"
Lily gasped. "A real sphinx? But you're so small!"
"Size doesn't matter when you have magic!" Cleo laughed. "Would you like to play padel with me?"
"Padel?" Lily tilted her head.
"A game of champions!" Cleo waved her paw, and a shimmering padel court appeared on the grass. "Beat me, and I'll share my special vitamin. But be warned—I'm the best player in all the magical realms!"
Lily's best friend Mateo came running down the path, his backpack bouncing. "What's going on?"
"It's a sphinx, Mateo! She wants to play padel!"
Together, the children faced Cleo on the glittering court. The tiny sphinx was surprisingly fast, zipping around like a hummingbird. Every time Lily or Mateo thought they had her, Cleo would somehow return the ball with a spin that made it dance.
"You need more than speed," Cleo called. "You need to move as one!"
Lily looked at Mateo and nodded. They'd practiced together every day after school. "Now!" she shouted.
They moved together, perfectly in sync. Lily returned Cleo's shot, and Mateo was ready at the net. The ball sailed past the sphinx's outstretched paws.
"We did it!" cheered Mateo, high-fiving Lily.
Cleo bowed gracefully. "You played with something I can never master—friendship." She reached into her pyramid and pulled out a glowing orange crystal. "This is my vitamin of kindness. Sprinkle it on someone who's lonely, and they'll find their smile again."
Lily's eyes widened. "Like the new girl who always sits alone at recess?"
"Exactly," Cleo smiled. "True champions use their gifts to help others."
As the sphinx and her golden pyramid faded into sparkles, Lily and Mateo ran toward school, their hearts full of magic and their hands ready to share it.
Because the best kind of magic isn't found in pyramids or mystical vitamins—it's found in friendship and kindness shared with others.
