The Sphinx's Golden Cable

Lily was a curious girl who loved exploring. One sunny morning, while walking along the sparkling beach, she spotted something extraordinary. A golden **cable** stretched from the sandy shore all the way to a mysterious island she'd never noticed before. It shimmered like liquid sunshine in the morning light.

The cable seemed to hum with ancient magic. Lily's heart raced with excitement. She took a deep breath, grabbed onto the warm metal, and—WHOOSH! She was pulled across the sparkling water, sliding along the glowing cable like the world's most exciting zip line.

When she landed softly on the island, her mouth fell open. The most beautiful **papaya** tree stood in the center, its fruits glowing with pink and gold light. But something was guarding it—a small, friendly **sphinx** with sparkly purple wings and kind, dancing eyes!

"Welcome, young explorer," the sphinx said gently. "I've been waiting for someone brave enough to ride the magic cable."

Lily's eyes widened. "You can talk!"

The sphinx smiled warmly. "Of course! But first, you must solve my riddle: I have branches but no leaves, I sway but never dance. What am I?"

Lily looked around at the island's swaying trees and thought hard. Suddenly, she knew! "A **palm** tree!"

"Correct!" The sphinx clapped her paws together. "You may take one papaya. But promise me—you'll share it with someone who needs cheer today."

Lily picked the perfect papaya, thanked the sphinx, and slid back home on the golden cable. She found her neighbor Mrs. Higgins, who was feeling lonely, and shared the magical fruit. As they ate it together, warmth and laughter filled the room.

That night, Lily whispered to the stars, "Magic is best when shared."
