The Sphinx's Garden Surprise

Lily loved exploring her grandmother's backyard garden. It was a magical place where butterflies danced and flowers hummed soft songs. But today, something extraordinary happened.

Near the old stone fountain, Lily spotted a shimmering figure. It was a small sphinx, no bigger than a cat, with emerald-green wings and sparkling amber eyes. The sphinx looked sad.

"What's wrong?" Lily asked gently.

"I've lost my riddle," the sphinx sighed. "Without it, I can't protect the garden's magic."

Lily wanted to help. She noticed the fountain's water was flowing backward, swirling up instead of down. Inside the water lived a friendly goldfish named Finn who blew bubbles that smelled like cotton candy.

"Maybe Finn can help!" Lily suggested.

Finn popped to the surface. "I saw your riddle! It flew into the spinach patch!"

Together, Lily, the sphinx, and Finn rushed to the garden. The spinach leaves were enormous — some as big as umbrellas! Hidden beneath a giant spinach leaf was a glowing golden scroll.

The sphinx's eyes lit up. "My riddle!" But then she paused. "Lily, you found it with me. This magic belongs to both of us now."

She touched the scroll, and golden sparkles filled the air. The sphinx grew larger, her wings spreading beautifully.

"Thank you for helping me," the sphinx said. "You've taught me something important — magic is better when shared. Will you be my friend?"

Lily grinned. "Always!"

From that day on, whenever Lily visited the garden, the sphinx would share wonderful stories, Finn would perform bubble tricks, and they'd all have picnics under the giant spinach leaves. Lily learned that the best adventures are the ones you share with friends, and that sometimes the most magical things hide in the most unexpected places.

And every night, Lily would fall asleep wondering what new adventure awaited in her grandmother's enchanted garden.
