The Sphinx's Friendship Vitamin

Lily loved exploring her grandmother's dusty attic. One rainy afternoon, she discovered a golden door behind a stack of old trunks. The door had a note that read: "Only the curious may enter."

Inside, Lily found herself in a magical cave filled with sparkling crystals. In the center sat a magnificent sphinx with the body of a lion and the head of a wise woman. Her eyes shone like stars.

"Welcome, young explorer," the sphinx purred gently. "I am Cleopatra, guardian of the Friendship Vitamin."

"Friendship Vitamin?" Lily asked, her eyes wide.

Cleopatra nodded and opened her paw to reveal a tiny, glowing orange bottle. "This magical vitamin helps people become better friends. But it only works if you first answer my riddle."

Lily took a deep breath. "I'm ready!"

"What is something you can give to others, but the more you give it away, the more you have of it?"

Lily thought hard. She remembered sharing her toys with the new girl at school, and how happy it made both of them. "Kindness?" she guessed.

"Correct!" The sphinx smiled, her whiskers twitching with delight. "You are wise beyond your years. Now, remember — the true magic isn't in this bottle. The real secret is that every act of kindness is like a vitamin for friendship. The more you share, the stronger your friendships become."

Lily reached for the bottle, but as her fingers touched it, it dissolved into hundreds of tiny golden butterflies that filled the cave with light.

"They're beautiful!" Lily gasped.

"They are your new powers," Cleopatra explained. "Every time you use kindness, a butterfly appears to remind you that friendship is the greatest magic of all."

Lily hugged the sphinx goodbye and skipped home, her heart full of wonder. That night, she shared her favorite vitamin with her little brother when he was feeling sick. As she did, she saw a tiny golden butterfly flutter outside her window, and she knew that the best friendship vitamin of all was simply caring for others.
