The Sphinx's Digital Doorway

Maya sat beneath the swaying **palm** tree in her grandmother's garden, tracing patterns in the sand with her finger. She was supposed to be doing her homework, but her mind kept wandering to the stories her grandmother told about magical creatures who lived between the stars.

"Your grandfather left you something special," Grandma had said that morning, pressing her old **iPhone** into Maya's hands. "But you must discover its secret yourself."

Maya stared at the screen. It looked ordinary, until she noticed strange symbols glowing faintly beneath the glass. When she traced them with her thumb, the screen rippled like water, and suddenly she wasn't in the garden anymore.

She stood in a golden desert beneath an endless purple sky. Before her towered a magnificent **sphinx** with emerald eyes and wings like sunset clouds.

"Young seeker," the sphinx rumbled kindly, "I have guarded this doorway for a thousand years. Only those with pure hearts and curious minds may enter. But first, you must answer my riddle."

Maya's heart raced. "I'm ready!"

"I have a horn but never charges. I have strength but never fights. I carry warriors between worlds. What am I?"

Maya thought hard. She remembered her grandfather's telescope and the stories he told about the night sky. "A constellation! Like Taurus the **bull** in the stars!"

The sphinx's emerald eyes sparkled. "Correct, little one. Your grandfather was the last to solve my riddle. He left this doorway for you."

The sphinx stepped aside, revealing a shimmering portal. Through it, Maya could see her grandfather's old study, filled with star charts and magical instruments.

"Whenever you miss him," the sphinx said gently, "you may return. The love between you is the strongest magic of all."

Maya stepped through the portal and found herself back beneath the **palm** tree, the **iPhone** warm in her hands. The screen now showed beautiful constellations, including a bright **bull** that seemed to wink at her.

That night, Maya fell asleep counting stars, knowing her grandfather's love would always guide her, like Taurus the **bull** blazing in the sky above.
