The Sphinx's Baseball Puzzle
Lily loved her blue baseball cap more than anything. She wore it everywhere, even to breakfast. One sunny Saturday, she was practicing her baseball swing in the backyard when something magical happened.
Her cap started to glow! It lifted off her head and floated toward the old oak tree, leading her to a secret door she'd never noticed before. Lily grabbed her favorite baseball and followed.
Inside, she met the most amazing creature—a friendly sphinx with golden wings and twinkling eyes. "Welcome, young adventurer!" the sphinx purred. "I've been waiting for someone brave enough to solve my puzzle."
The sphinx explained that she guarded the enchanted Vitamin Garden, where magical vitamins gave creatures special powers. But a grumpy gnome had locked the gate, and only someone with excellent aim could open it.
Lily's heart raced with excitement. She could help! The sphinx led her to a giant stone wall with three tiny targets far, far away. "You must hit all three targets with your baseball to unlock the garden," said the sphinx.
Lily adjusted her baseball hat and focused. She remembered what her dad had taught her: aim true, follow through, believe in yourself.
*Whoosh!* The first pitch hit the bullseye!
*Zoom!* The second ball flew perfectly!
*Crack!* The third strike was right on target!
The stone gate creaked open, and inside, tiny vitamin bottles glowed in every color of the rainbow. The sphinx smiled warmly. "You've saved us! These vitamins help sick animals get strong again."
Lily felt proud as she put her cap back on. The sphinx gave her a small bottle of golden vitamins. "For you—vitamins of courage for your next adventure."
From that day on, whenever Lily wore her lucky baseball cap, she knew she was ready for anything. Because true courage isn't about being perfect—it's about trying your best and helping others.
