The Sphinx's Baseball Game
Leo loved baseball more than anything. Every Saturday, he played with his friends at the old park near the forest. But one cloudy afternoon, his baseball rolled into the woods.
Leo ran after it and found something amazing. A giant sphinx with emerald-green wings sat beside a shimmering pond. The sphinx had kind eyes and long golden hair that sparkled like sunshine.
"I've been watching you play," said the sphinx in a gentle voice. "My friend needs help. Will you come?"
Leo nodded bravely. The sphinx led him through secret paths to a hidden garden. There, a zombie-looking creature sat sadly on a bench. But when it looked up, Leo saw it wasn't scary at all—it was a friendly magical being named Zara who had been cursed by a grumpy wizard!
"The curse makes me look scary," Zara sniffled. "Nobody wants to be my friend."
"That's not true!" Leo said firmly. "My friends and I would love to play baseball with you."
The sphinx smiled. "You need magic water from the Moon Pond to break the spell."
Leo and the sphinx hurried to the glowing pond. Leo filled his baseball cap with the magical water. Together, they trickled it over Zara's head. POOF! The zombie appearance melted away like fog in the morning sun. Zara became a beautiful girl with bright purple hair.
"Thank you!" Zara hugged Leo. "Want to play baseball?"
That afternoon, Leo introduced Zara to his team. She hit the ball so hard it flew over the trees! Everyone cheered, and Leo learned that true friendship isn't about how someone looks—it's about kindness and courage.
From then on, every Saturday, the sphinx watched from the woods, smiling as Leo, Zara, and all their friends played the most magical baseball games ever.
