The Sphinx and the Magic Vitamin

Lily loved exploring her grandmother's backyard. It was full of secret gardens and hidden corners. But one sunny afternoon, she found something she'd never noticed before—a stone statue of a sphinx tucked behind the rosebushes.

The sphinx had the body of a lion and the head of a wise person. Its stone eyes seemed to twinkle in the sunlight. Lily reached out to touch it, and suddenly—the sphinx blinked!

"Greetings, young explorer," the sphinx rumbled in a voice like distant thunder. "I am Cleo, and I have been waiting for someone like you."

Lily's mouth fell open. "You're alive! But... how?"

Celo sighed, and her stone wings fluttered. "I am growing weak. I need the magic vitamin from the Crystal Pool to restore my strength. Will you help me?"

"Of course!" Lily said without hesitation. She had learned in school that true friends always help each other.

Cleo led Lily through a hidden gate in the garden fence. Beyond it lay a meadow Lily had never seen, with flowers that sang soft melodies and butterflies that left trails of glitter wherever they flew.

At the center of the meadow was a small pool filled with water that sparkled like diamonds. But there was a problem guarding it—a tiny dragon no bigger than a kitten, curled up and fast asleep.

"The magic vitamin is at the bottom," Cleo whispered. "But we must not wake the dragon."

Lily thought carefully. She couldn't swim without disturbing the water and waking the dragon. Then she had an idea. She picked some soft, fluffy flowers from the meadow and wove them into a long rope.

Working together, she and Cleo slowly lowered the flower rope into the pool. When they pulled it up, there was a glowing orange orb attached to it—the magic vitamin!

Celo ate it, and suddenly her stone body began to shine. She became golden and warm, no longer weak and gray.

"Thank you, Lily," Cleo said, nuzzling her gently. "Your kindness and quick thinking saved me. Remember, true magic isn't about spells or potions. It's about helping friends, even when the task seems difficult."

Lily hugged the sphinx's golden neck, feeling proud. She had learned that courage and kindness were the most powerful magic of all.

Whenever Lily visited grandmother's house after that, she would find Cleo waiting behind the rosebushes, ready for their next adventure.
