The Sphinx and the Magic Spinach
Leo poked at the green pile on his dinner plate. "I hate spinach," he grumbled. But that night, something magical happened. A beam of moonlight shone through his window, forming a golden path right to his backyard!
Leo followed the glittering trail and found himself standing before a magnificent creature—a Sphinx with emerald feathers and wise amber eyes. The Sphinx looked sad.
"Hello, little one," the Sphinx rumbled softly. "I am Cleo, guardian of the Moon Garden. But I've lost my powers. I can't remember my riddles anymore!"
Leo's eyes widened. "A real Sphinx! Can I help?"
Cleo sighed. "Long ago, Moon Garden grew magical spinach full of starlight vitamin. It gave creatures like me the power of wisdom. But the garden has gone dark. Someone must plant three golden seeds before sunrise."
Leo's heart raced. He had always complained about spinach, but this was different—this was MAGIC spinach! "I'll do it!"
Cleo gave him three glowing seeds. "Plant them with courage, water them with kindness, and they'll grow."
Leo worked through the night. He dug holes with determination, planted each seed carefully, and whispered encouraging words. When morning's first light touched the garden, green shoots burst from the earth! They grew instantly into towering plants with shimmering leaves.
Celo took a bite of the magical spinach. Her feathers began to glow! "The starlight vitamin! I can feel my wisdom returning! Thank you, Leo!"
She smiled mysteriously. "And here's a riddle for you: What's green and yummy and makes you strong?"
Leo giggled. "Spinach!"
"Correct!" Cleo beamed. "Leo, you showed courage and kindness. Those are the most important vitamins of all. And maybe, just maybe, regular spinach has a little magic too."
The next morning, Leo's mom was shocked when he eagerly ate his spinach at breakfast. "It's Moon Garden spinach," he whispered with a wink. "Full of courage vitamins."
And whenever Leo faced something scary, he remembered: true magic comes from being brave and kind. And sometimes, from trying new things—even green leafy vegetables.
