The Sphinx and the Golden Vitamin
Lily loved exploring the woods behind her house. One sunny afternoon, she discovered something amazing—a stone sphinx with golden fur and emerald eyes, sleeping near a sparkling pond.
"Hello?" Lily whispered.
The sphinx opened one green eye. "Ah, a brave adventurer! I've been waiting centuries for someone like you."
Lily's eyes grew wide. "You're real?"
"Very real," the sphinx said, sitting up. "But I have a problem. I'm supposed to guard this magical pond, but I'm too weak. I need the Golden Vitamin from the bottom of the pond to restore my strength. But I cannot swim."
The sphinx looked so sad that Lily's heart went out to him. "I love swimming! I can help!"
"You would do that?" The sphinx smiled. "Be warned—the water is enchanted. Only someone pure of heart can reach the bottom."
Lily pulled on her goggles and took a deep breath. She loved swimming, but this pond shimmered with rainbow colors. As she dove in, the water felt warm and bubbly, like a giant bubble bath!
Down she swam, past singing fish and dancing seaweed. At the very bottom, inside an open treasure chest, glowed the most beautiful orange pill she'd ever seen—the Golden Vitamin!
She grabbed it and kicked upward, her lungs burning but her heart happy.
When she surfaced, the sphinx was waiting. Lily handed him the Golden Vitamin. He swallowed it, and suddenly golden light burst from his fur! He grew stronger, his eyes glowing brighter than before.
"Thank you, Lily!" the sphinx boomed happily. "You showed true courage and kindness. Those are the greatest vitamins of all." He pressed something into her hand—a small golden sphinx charm on a silver chain. "Whenever you need courage, just hold this and remember."
Lily smiled, touching the warm charm. She realized something wonderful: helping others was the best adventure of all.
And every day after school, she returned to swim in the magical pond with her new best friend, the sphinx who taught her that true strength comes from kindness, not magic vitamins.
The end.
