The Sphinx and the Forgetful Zombie
In the heart of the Whispering Desert stood a magnificent sphinx named Cleo. She had golden wings that sparkled like sunshine and emerald eyes that twinkled with ancient wisdom. Cleo loved children and often spoke in riddles that made them giggle.
One starry night, a small zombie named Zubby shuffled across the sand. He wasn't scary at all — he was just lonely and very forgetful. His green skin glowed softly in the moonlight, and he kept losing his shoes. Zubby had forgotten everything about himself, even his own name.
"What brings you to my desert, little friend?" Cleo asked kindly.
Zubby sniffled. "I forgot who I am. I forgot my family. I forgot everything."
Cleo nodded thoughtfully. Then suddenly — CRACK! BOOM! Lightning flashed across the sky in brilliant purple streaks. The storm revealed something sparkling near Cleo's paw: a tiny golden bottle filled with rainbow liquid.
"This is the Memory Vitamin," Cleo explained. "One sip, and you'll remember everything important. But first, you must solve my riddle."
Zubby's eyes widened. "I'm not good at riddles. I'll mess up."
"The riddle isn't about being smart," Cleo purred. "It's about being brave enough to try."
Zubby took a deep breath. "Okay. I'll try."
Cleo smiled and spoke her riddle. Zubby thought and thought, his brow furrowing. He guessed wrong twice, but Cleo gently encouraged him to keep trying. Finally, Zubby shouted out the answer — and he was right!
As he drank the Memory Vitamin, wonderful memories flooded back. He remembered he was a boy named Toby who loved playing soccer and making people laugh. A magical accident had turned him into a temporary zombie, but now he could return home.
"Thank you, Cleo!" Toby hugged the sphinx's golden paw. "I learned that being brave means trying even when you're scared."
And that's the truth of it — friendship and courage are the strongest magic of all.
