The Sphinx and the Brave Little Bear

One sunny afternoon, a small bear named Benny was playing in his grandmother's garden. He was supposed to be eating lunch, but he had hidden his spinach under a napkin. Benny did not like spinach at all.

"Just one bite won't hurt," his grandmother had said. But Benny had other ideas.

Suddenly, something magical happened. A tiny sphinx statue near the garden fountain began to glow. It was only as tall as Benny's paw, with the body of a lion and the head of a wise person.

"I am Stella the Sphinx," the statue said in a voice like sparkles. "And I know why you're hiding that spinach, little bear."

Benny's eyes went wide. "You can talk?"

"I can do many things," Stella said. "Come closer."

Benny inched forward, and suddenly the ground beneath him rippled like water. The garden transformed into a golden desert. In front of them rose a magnificent pyramid made of sparkling crystals.

"This is the Pyramid of Courage," Stella explained. "Inside, you'll find three challenges. If you complete them, you'll discover something amazing about spinach."

Benny's ears perked up. "Really?"

"Really," Stella promised. "But first you must be brave."

The first challenge was a room full of mirrors that showed different versions of Benny—some scared, some brave, some kind. "Which one is the real you?" Stella asked.

Benny thought carefully. "The one who's kind to others."

The mirrors dissolved, revealing a door.

The second challenge was a dark tunnel. "Go through alone," Stella said.

Benny took a deep breath and stepped into the darkness. He walked until he saw a tiny light—the size of a spinach leaf. He followed it until he reached the final room.

There, sitting on a crystal pedestal, was a single piece of glowing spinach.

"Eat it," Stella said. "And you'll understand."

Benny remembered his grandmother's love. He remembered his friends who always tried new things. So he took a bite.

The spinach didn't taste yucky at all. It tasted like sunshine and adventure, like home and wonder. Benny felt stronger, braver, and happier.

"Spinach gives you courage," Stella whispered. "Like bears have strength inside them, spinach gives strength to your body."

The pyramid faded away, and Benny was back in the garden. His grandmother smiled.

"Did you like your lunch, Benny?"

Benny looked at the remaining spinach on his plate and grinned. "Grandma, can I have more?"

Stella winked from her spot near the fountain, and Benny knew this was the start of many magical adventures.
