The Sleepy Zombie's Magic Paddle
Lily and Ben were running through the Whispering Woods when they saw something strange. A green figure shuffled slowly between the trees, moving like a walking pile of leaves.
"Is that... a zombie?" Ben whispered, eyes wide.
The creature stopped. It wasn't scary at all. It was a little zombie with patches of colorful mushrooms growing on his jacket, and he looked very, very tired.
"I'm Zummy," the zombie sighed. "And I've lost my magic padel."
"What's a padel?" Lily asked.
Zummy's face lit up. "It's a magical paddle that helps me play the Star Game with the moon sprites! Every night, we hit glowing balls of starlight back and forth. Without my padel, the moon sprites can't play, and they're lonely."
He looked so sad that Lily and Ben knew they had to help.
"We'll help you find it!" Ben said.
They started running across the meadow, searching everywhere. They looked under bushes, behind rocks, and even in the hollow of an ancient oak tree. No padel.
"Wait," Lily said suddenly. "Zummy, where did you last see it?"
Zummy thought hard. "I was playing near the Sparkle Creek, catching falling stars..."
They ran to the creek, and there it was! A beautiful paddle with swirling patterns of silver and gold, floating gently in the water. A tiny moon sprite sat beside it, guarding it carefully.
"Thank you for finding our friend's padel," the moon sprite chimed. "Play with us tonight!"
That night, Lily, Ben, and Zummy stood in the meadow under a sky full of stars. Zummy's magical padel hit glowing star-balls into the air, where they burst into showers of light. The moon sprites danced and twirled, laughing with joy.
Lily and Ben learned something wonderful that day: things that seem scary might just be lonely, and friendship can turn an ordinary day into magic.
