The Sleepy Sun-Sneezers

Lily discovered the secret pool behind the old palm tree on the hottest day of summer. The water sparkled like diamonds, and something magical floated in the center—a tiny green creature with droopy eyes, swaying sleepily.

"Oh!" Lily gasped. "Are you okay?"

The creature yawned. "I'm a sun-sneezer," it said sadly. "We forget how to play when we don't get our daily dose of sunshine vitamins."

Lily noticed more green creatures sleeping around the pool edges. They looked like little zombie gnomes, all wobbly and slow, their arms stretched out as if searching for something they'd lost.

"I can help!" Lily said, remembering the bright oranges in her lunchbox. "Oranges have lots of vitamin C—that's practically sunshine in fruit form!"

The first sun-sneezer's eyes widened. "Really?"

Lily shared her oranges, and suddenly the creature perked up, did a little wiggly dance, and splashed into the pool! "Swimming!" it cheered. "That's the secret! Swimming in magical water wakes us up completely!"

One by one, all the sun-sneezers ate oranges and jumped into the pool, laughing and splashing. The water bubbled with rainbow sparkles, and the palm tree's fronds clapped like hands in the warm breeze.

"Thank you, Lily!" they shouted together. "You saved us!"

From then on, Lily visited every sunny day, bringing vitamin-rich fruits to share. She learned that kindness and friendship are the most powerful magic of all—and sometimes, the best adventures start with helping someone who needs a little sunshine.

And every time she swam in that magical pool, the sun-sneezers would clap their leafy palms and cheer for their very best friend.
