The Sleepy Sphinx's Magic Vitamin

Lily loved exploring the magical garden behind her grandmother's house. It was full of twinkling flowers and talking butterflies, but the most wonderful thing was the ancient stone sphinx named Stella.

Stella wasn't like regular sphinxes from old stories. She didn't ask tricky riddles. Instead, Stella told the best jokes and gave the warmest hugs. Her golden fur sparkled in the sunlight, and her wings were like rainbows.

One sunny morning, Lily found Stella looking very strange. The sphinx's usually bright eyes were droopy, her wings dragged on the grass, and she moved as slow as a zombie.

"Stella! What's wrong?" Lily cried, rushing to her friend.

"Oh, hello, little one," Stella yawned. "I feel so tired today. I can barely remember my own name, let alone any jokes. I'm moving like a zombie because I forgot something very important."

"What did you forget?"

"My magic morning vitamin!" Stella said sadly. "It grows high in the crystal palm tree, but I'm too sleepy to climb it. Without my vitamin, I can't protect the garden's magic."

Lily looked up at the towering palm tree with its shimmering silver trunk. At the very top, glowing golden fruits sparkled like tiny suns.

"I'll get it for you!" Lily declared.

"Be careful," Stella warned. "The crystal palm only gives its magic vitamin to those who are brave and kind."

Lily climbed the smooth trunk, her fingers finding tiny holds. When she reached the top, she picked the shiniest golden fruit. But as she touched it, the palm tree spoke in a whispery voice:

"Little one, why do you want this magic?"

"Because my friend Stella needs help," Lily said simply. "She's sad and tired, and I want to make her better."

The palm tree glowed brighter. "Your heart is true. Take this vitamin and help your friend."

Lily climbed down carefully and gave Stella the golden fruit. As soon as Stella ate it, her eyes sparkled again. Her wings spread wide, and rainbow feathers filled the air.

"Thank you, Lily!" Stella cheered. "You're the best friend ever!"

"That's what friends do," Lily smiled.

From that day on, Stella made sure to take her magic vitamin every morning. And every afternoon, she and Lily would sit beneath the crystal palm tree, telling jokes and watching the butterflies dance, grateful for the magic of friendship.
