The Sleepy Pyramid Guardian

In a land where sand dunes sparkled like sugar, a small fox named Penny skipped toward the Great Pyramid. She had heard stories about a magical friend who lived inside.

As Penny trotted closer, she spotted a dog barking excitedly near the pyramid entrance. It was Barnaby, a fluffy golden retriever with a happy tail that never stopped wagging.

"Hello!" called Penny. "What are you doing here?"

"Waiting for my friend!" Barnaby barked. "He's a pyramid guardian, but he moves very, very slowly."

Penny's ears perked up. "A guardian?"

Barnaby nodded. "He's like a zombie—very sleepy and walks all slow and careful. But he's not scary at all! He just needs extra naps."

Just then, a figure shuffled out from the pyramid's shadows. It was a mummy named Milo, wrapped in colorful bandages with sparkles on them. He moved slowly, stretching his arms like he was waking up from a very long sleep.

"Good morning, friends," Milo yawned. "Welcome to my pyramid home!"

Penny wasn't scared at all. Milo's kind eyes twinkled like stars. "Are you really a zombie?" she asked.

Milo chuckled. "People call me that because I move slowly and love to sleep. But I'm just a mummy who needs extra rest. Would you like to see my treasure?"

Inside the pyramid, golden walls glowed with ancient paintings. But the real treasure wasn't gold or jewels. Milo showed them shelves filled with books, toys, and beautiful paintings made by children who had visited over thousands of years.

"The best treasure is friendship," Milo said softly. "That's why I've stayed so long—waiting for friends like you."

Penny, Barnaby, and Milo spent the day playing hide-and-seek among the pyramid chambers. Milo moved slowly, but he always found the best hiding spots.

As the sun set, painting the sky orange and pink, Penny learned something wonderful: different friends move at different speeds, and that's perfectly okay. What matters most is kindness, friendship, and taking time to understand each other.

"Come back soon!" Milo called as Penny and Barnaby trotted home, already planning their next adventure.
