The Sleepy Garden Zombie

Leo loved being a **spy**. Every morning, he'd sneak through his garden with paper-binoculars, searching for mysteries. His mom called it playing, but Leo knew better—there was magic everywhere if you looked closely enough.

One Tuesday, Leo spotted something unusual behind the oak tree. A small, gray creature shuffled slowly among the flowers. It moved like a zombie! Leo held his breath. Zombies were supposed to be scary, but this one looked… confused.

The creature's green skin was patchy, and its eyes kept closing. It stumbled and fell face-first into a daisy.

"Are you okay?" Leo whispered, creeping closer like any good spy would.

The creature sat up and sighed. "I'm Zim. I'm a garden zombie, but I'm not very good at it. I'm supposed to be spooky and mysterious, but I keep falling asleep."

Leo laughed. "Why are you so tired?"

"I haven't had my morning **vitamin** yet," Zim admitted. "Garden zombies need sunshine-vitamins from the golden sunflowers to stay awake. But they're all the way across Mrs. Higgins' yard, and I'm too sleepy to get there."

Leo's eyes lit up. This was a spy mission! "I can help you!"

Together, they tiptoed to the sunflowers. Leo boosted Zim up, and the little zombie stretched toward the biggest bloom. As he inhaled its golden dust, Zim's gray skin turned a brilliant emerald green. His eyes popped open wide.

"I'm awake!" Zim cheered. "Thank you, Leo!"

"Anytime, **friend**," Leo grinned.

From that day on, Leo wasn't just a spy anymore. He was a garden guardian, and Zim was his best friend. They had adventures every day—searching for four-leaf clovers, following butterfly trails, and protecting the garden from real pests like mean squirrels.

Leo learned that the best spies don't just watch for mysteries. They find friends in unexpected places, and sometimes the scariest-looking creatures just need a little help to shine.
