The Sleepy Bull Secret

Lily loved to play spy. Every Saturday, she grabbed her magnifying glass and notebook, then crept through her backyard like a detective on a top-secret mission. Her dad called her "Agent Lily," which made her feel important and brave.

One sunny morning, Lily's spy adventure led her to Farmer McGregor's field next door. There, behind a wooden fence, stood the biggest bull she had ever seen. His name was Barnaby, but something seemed strange about him today.

Barnaby moved slowly, his head drooping low. His eyes looked heavy and tired. He shuffled like a zombie from the storybooks—step, drag, step, drag. Lily gasped and hid behind a tall oak tree. Was Barnaby a zombie bull?

Agent Lily needed to investigate. She crept closer, her heart thumping like a drum. But instead of being scary, Barnaby let out a soft moo that sounded almost like a sigh. He wasn't a zombie at all. He was just lonely.

"Hello," Lily whispered, climbing through the fence. Barnaby lifted his big head and blinked his dark, gentle eyes. She noticed his water trough was empty and his hay pile was gone.

"You're not a zombie," she said, petting his warm nose. "You're thirsty and hungry!"

Lily filled her spy bucket with water from the garden hose and gathered fresh grass. Barnaby drank eagerly, then nuzzled her hand with gratitude. Farmer McGregor had forgotten to check on him before going on vacation.

That day, Agent Lily solved her most important case ever. She learned that sometimes things that seem scary are really just someone needing help. And the best spies use their powers to show kindness, not just to solve mysteries.

Every day that summer, Lily visited Barnaby. They became best friends, and she discovered that friendship was the greatest adventure of all.
