The Sleepwalking Bull's Midnight Friend
Luna the fox had the softest orange fur in all of Shadow Forest. Every night, she sat beneath the great talking palm tree at the forest's edge. The palm was ancient—its leaves whispered stories of magic to anyone who listened closely.
One full-moon night, Luna heard something thundering through the trees. Her ears perked up. A bull named Barnaby came crashing out of the bushes, looking terrified.
"Help!" mooed Barnaby. "There's a zombie following me!"
Luna's heart fluttered. She'd heard tales of the Sleepwalking Zombie—a creature who wandered at night, searching for something it had lost.
"Show me," said Luna bravely.
They crept through the forest together until they saw it: a shuffling figure with messy hair and outstretched arms. The zombie let out a soft groan.
Luna stepped forward. "Hello?"
The zombie jumped. "Oh! Thank goodness. I'm not a zombie—I'm Zara! I've been sleepwalking every night looking for my lucky teddy bear. I lost him somewhere in these woods."
Barnaby and Luna exchanged glances. Then Luna had an idea.
"The talking palm tree sees everything," she said. "Let's ask for help."
They hurried back to the palm tree. Luna explained Zara's problem. The wise palm rustled its leaves thoughtfully, then pointed one frond toward a hollow in its trunk.
There, nestled safely, was a small brown teddy bear with a red bow.
"Mr. Snuggles!" Zara cried, grabbing the bear and giving him a huge squeeze. "Thank you!"
The new friends laughed under the moonlight. Zara promised to leave a note by her door so her parents could lock it safely at night. Barnaby offered to walk her home, and Luna said she'd visit every evening.
That night, Luna learned something wonderful: things aren't always as scary as they seem. Sometimes, even monsters are just lost friends waiting to be found.
And from then on, the fox, the bull, and the former sleepwalker gathered beneath the magical palm tree, sharing stories and friendship under the stars.
