The Sleepwalking Boy and the Moonlit Garden
Leo was a zombie. Well, not a real zombie—he just walked in his sleep! Every night, he'd wander through his house, eyes half-open, arms stretched out, making soft groaning sounds. His parents called it sleepwalking, but Leo liked to think he was having secret adventures.
One moonlit night, Leo woke up outside in his neighbor's garden. He rubbed his eyes and gasped. Standing before him was the biggest bull he'd ever seen! But this bull wasn't scary at all. He had golden spots that glowed like tiny stars, and his eyes were as kind as morning sunshine.
"Hello there, little one," the bull rumbled gently. "I'm Barnaby. I guard the magical dreams that float through this garden at night."
Suddenly, a silky black cat with silver whiskers hopped onto Barnaby's back. "And I'm Luna!" she purred. "We've been waiting for you, Leo. We need your help!"
Leo's eyes widened. "Me? Help? But I'm just a sleepwalking boy."
Barnaby lowered his head so Leo could pet his velvety nose. "Exactly! You can walk between the awake world and the dream world. That makes you very special. The Dream Keeper has lost her magic wand, and without it, children everywhere will stop having wonderful dreams."
Luna's tail twitched with excitement. "We saw where it fell—in the grumpy old giant's castle beyond the hills! Will you come with us?"
Leo nodded bravely. Barnaby knelt down, and Leo climbed onto his broad back. Luna curled up beside him like a fluffy pillow.
Together they galloped under star-studded skies, across sparkling streams, and through whispering forests. At the castle, Leo spotted something sparkling on a high shelf. He stretched his arms—just like when he sleepwalked—and reached higher, higher, higher!
His fingers brushed the wand, and suddenly, it leaped into his hand! It glowed rainbow-bright, filling the room with dancing butterflies and singing flowers.
"You did it!" Luna cheered.
Barnaby carried them home, and Leo slipped back into bed, the adventure feeling like a wonderful dream. But when he woke up, there beside his pillow lay a small silver whisker from Luna, and he knew it had all been real.
That night, Leo didn't sleepwalk at all. He just smiled, knowing that somewhere in the moonlight, a magical bull and a clever cat were his best friends—and that even the most ordinary boy could have the most extraordinary adventures.
