The Sky-Swimming Padel

Lily loved watching clouds from her bedroom window. One Tuesday, something extraordinary happened—a small, round creature the size of a grapefruit tumbled out of a rainbow and landed with a soft *pomf* in her garden.

It was purple all over, with shimmering silver spots and tiny wings that buzzed like a happy bumblebee.

"Hello!" the creature squeaked. "I'm a Padel! I was swimming through the rainbow, but I lost my balance."

"Swimming?" Lily asked, her eyes wide.

"Oh yes!" The Padel did a little spin. "Padels spend their days swimming through colors and clouds. But I'm running low on my rainbow vitamins. Without them, my spots fade and I can't fly properly."

Lily noticed the Padel's silver spots were already looking dull. "What are rainbow vitamins?"

"Magic sparkles from each color of the rainbow!" The Padel explained. "Red gives energy, orange brings joy, yellow adds sunshine, green means courage, blue creates calm, indigo helps you dream, and violet makes you kind."

Lily's heart fluttered with excitement. "I'll help you find them!"

The Padel glowed with gratitude. "Hold my hand, and we'll go swimming together!"

Lily took the Padel's tiny purple hand. Suddenly, she felt lighter than air. WHOOSH! They lifted off the ground, floating up, up, UP into the sky.

"Now you're swimming too!" the Padel cheered.

Lily gasped with wonder. The sky was like a giant, sparkly ocean. She kicked her legs and moved her arms, and she really was swimming through air! Clouds brushed against her cheeks like cotton candy.

They collected sparkles from each color of the rainbow. Every time the Padel touched a color, it nibbled a sparkle like a tiny bite of magic candy.

"Delicious!" the Padel exclaimed after eating a blue sparkle. "Calm as a still pond!"

When they reached the violet band, Lily's hand tingled. "You missed one spot," she whispered.

Lily picked a violet sparkle and gently placed it on the Padel's nose. The Padel giggled, and all its silver spots suddenly burst back to brilliant brightness!

"Thank you, Lily!" the Padel did a joyous flip. "You shared your own kindness with me—that's the best vitamin of all!"

They swirmed and swirled through the sky, doing loops and spirals together. The sun painted everything gold as they slowly drifted back to Lily's garden.

"Will I ever see you again?" Lily asked as her feet touched the grass.

The Padel squeezed her hand. "Whenever you see a rainbow, I'm swimming there, thinking of you. And remember—you don't need magic vitamins to be special. You already have everything you need inside your heart."

With one last happy buzz, the Padel zoomed back up to the sky, leaving a trail of sparkles behind it.

Lily smiled, touching her cheek where a cloud had kissed her. Some real magic wasn't in vitamins at all. It was in helping friends, even when they were small, purple, and fell from rainbows.
