The Sky-Swimming Paddle

Lily found the old wooden paddle buried in the sand. It was covered in starfish patterns that sparkled like tiny galaxies.

"What do you suppose this does?" asked her best friend, Ben.

Lily held the paddle high. Suddenly, the air around them turned wobbly, like water in a pool.

"I think..." Lily gasped. "I think we're swimming!"

They were! But not in the ocean. They were swimming THROUGH THE AIR, floating and kicking above their beach town. The paddle pulled them upward like a magic magnet.

Below, a baby bull wandered onto the sand. He looked up with big, sad eyes and MOOED so softly that only the wind could hear.

"He's lost!" Ben cried. They swam down gently.

The bull nuzzled Lily's hand. His fur was warm and fuzzy, like sunshine. But something was strange — when he stepped, flowers bloomed from his hoofprints.

"You're not a regular bull, are you?" Lily whispered.

The bull shook his head. With his nose, he pointed at a single palm tree on a distant island, floating among the clouds.

"That's your home!" Lily realized. "But how will we get you there?"

She held the paddle toward the sky-island. The magic grew stronger. Lily, Ben, and the flower-bull began swimming upward again, past birds, past clouds, all the way to the magical island.

The bull's family was waiting — whole herds of them, with coats in every color of sunset. The little bull raced to his mother, leaving a trail of daisies and sunflowers behind him.

"Thank you," the mother bull said. "For helping my little one." She pressed a golden coconut into Lily's hand. "Whenever you need true friends, just crack this open."

Lily and Ben swam home as stars began to twinkle. They had discovered something wonderful: the best magic isn't in paddles or sky islands. The real magic is helping others, especially when they need it most.

That night, Lily placed the golden coconut on her nightstand. Somewhere far above, a flower-bull was sleeping happily, dreaming of the friends who brought him home.
