The Sky Cable and Magic Pool
Lily loved exploring behind her house, especially where the old garden met the forest. One sunny afternoon, she noticed something strange — a silver cable dangling from the tallest palm tree, shimmering as if it were made of moonlight.
"What are you?" she whispered, reaching up. Her curly brown hair tickled her cheeks as she tilted her head. The cable seemed to hum, inviting her to climb.
With a giggle, Lily grabbed hold and pulled herself up, hand over hand. Higher and higher she climbed, until the world below looked like a green patchwork quilt. The cable led her straight through the clouds!
At the top, she gasped. A magical island floated in the sky, and in its center sparkled the most beautiful pool she'd ever seen. The water wasn't blue or green — it changed color like a rainbow, rippling with tiny stars.
"Welcome," said a soft voice. A small dragon with scales like pearls appeared. "I've been waiting for a friend."
Lily's eyes widened. "You're real!"
"Very real," the dragon smiled. "This is the Friendship Pool. When two hearts truly connect, the water shows their bond. Would you like to see?"
Lily nodded eagerly. Together, they dipped their hands into the glowing water. Suddenly, images appeared — Lily and the dragon flying on cotton candy clouds, sharing star-fruit, reading books under palm trees. The water showed them laughing, exploring, and becoming best friends.
"Magic isn't about spells," the dragon said wisely. "It's about opening your heart to wonder and friendship."
Lily's hair sparkled with happiness. She'd found something better than treasure — a magical friend forever.
"Can I come back tomorrow?" she asked.
"Every day," promised the dragon. "The sky cable will always be here for true friends."
That night, Lily drifted to sleep with stardust in her hair and the magic of friendship in her heart, knowing adventure awaited whenever she dared to climb.
