The Secret Zombie Spy Club
Lily crouched behind the oak tree in her backyard, her loyal dog Buster wagging his tail beside her. They were on a Very Important Mission – playing their favorite game of spy!
"Shh, Buster!" Lily whispered, pressing her finger to her lips. She held up her dad's old iPhone like a detective's magnifying glass. The cracked screen made it look even more mysterious. Through the camera lens, she spotted something strange moving behind the garden shed.
It shuffled. It groaned. It had messy green hair and clothes that looked like they'd been slept in for a hundred years.
"A zombie!" Lily gasped, dropping the iPhone in the grass. Buster let out a tiny bark.
But then the zombie turned around and... sneezed. A big, glittery sneeze that made rainbow bubbles float into the air!
Lily crept closer. "Are you... real?"
The zombie sniffled and wiped their nose with a flowered handkerchief. "I'm Zara. I'm not a real zombie. I'm just very allergic to these dandelions!"
Zara explained she was new to the neighborhood and had been practicing her zombie dance for the school talent show, but she kept sneezing every time she got near the flowers.
Lily picked up her iPhone. "I have an idea! Buster and I can help you!"
For the next hour, the three new friends practiced together. Lily used her iPhone to play spooky music while Buster barked along to the beat. Zara's zombie shuffle got better and better, and she learned to avoid the patch of dandelions that made her sneeze.
"You're the best spy ever!" Zara said, giving Lily a sparkly high-five. "And Buster is the best zombie dog!"
That night, Lily learned that sometimes the scariest things aren't scary at all – they're just new friends waiting to be discovered. And the best spy missions are the ones that end with dancing, rainbow sneezes, and three very happy friends.
