The Secret Water Pyramid

pyramidspywaterfriend

Lily loved visiting her grandmother's house by the lake. Every summer, she would spend hours skipping stones and watching ripples dance across the surface. But this summer, something magical happened.

One misty morning, Lily decided to play a game. She would be a spy, quietly watching the lake to discover its secrets. She tiptoed to the dock and hid behind a bush, her notebook ready.

"What are you spying on?" a voice asked.

Lily jumped! A boy about her age sat on the dock, dangling his feet in the water. He had messy dark hair and the friendliest smile she had ever seen.

"I'm watching for magic," Lily said boldly.

The boy's eyes twinkled. "I'm Oliver. Want to see something?"

He pulled something from his pocket—a shiny, wet stone shaped like a tiny pyramid. "The water gave it to me. It's a water pyramid. If you whisper a secret to it and drop it in the lake, the water keeps your secret forever."

Lily gasped. "Really?"

"Really." Oliver handed her the pyramid. "Try it."

Lily held the cool stone to her lips and whispered, "I wish for a friend who likes adventures."

She dropped the pyramid into the water. *PLOP!* It sank quickly, but then—something incredible happened. Bubbles rose to the surface, and when they popped, hundreds of tiny water pyramids floated there, glowing in the morning sun.

"The water accepted your secret," Oliver whispered. "And look—your wish came true."

He pointed at their reflections in the water. Two friends, sitting together, ready for adventure.

"Will you teach me more lake secrets?" Lily asked.

Oliver grinned. "Only if you promise to be my co-spy."

Lily smiled so big her face hurt. Some secrets were too wonderful to keep—but friendship? That was the best magic of all, meant to be shared every single day.
