The Secret Water Pool

Lily loved exploring the forest behind her house. Every day after school, she would go on a new adventure, discovering hidden paths and talking to the squirrels. But one Tuesday, something magical happened.

While running through the tall grass, chasing a blue butterfly, Lily spotted something she'd never seen before. A tiny pool of water, no bigger than her lunchbox, sat between two ancient oak trees. The water sparkled like diamonds, even though there was no sunlight filtering through the thick leaves above.

"Hello," Lily whispered, leaning closer. The water didn't ripple. It stayed perfectly still, like glass.

Suddenly, a little face appeared in the pool! It was a water sprite named Dewdrop, with hair made of tiny bubbles and eyes as clear as spring rain.

"I've been waiting for someone kind," Dewdrop said. "Will you be my friend?"

Lily nodded eagerly. Dewdrop explained that this was a Secret Pool, a magical place where lonely children could find friends. But the magic only worked if you shared it with others.

The next day, Lily brought her shy neighbor, Max, to the pool. Max had just moved to town and didn't know anyone. When he looked into the water, he saw his own reflection smiling back at him—and then Dewdrop appeared too!

"Welcome, Max," Dewdrop said. "Friends who bring friends are the best kind of friends."

Every day after that, Lily and Max visited the Secret Pool. They brought other lonely children from school, and soon everyone had a magical friend of their own. The pool taught them something important: the best magic in the world is sharing happiness with others.

Years later, when Lily grew up, she brought her own children to the Secret Pool. And there, sparkling between the ancient oak trees, the water still waited, ready to make new friends and share its magic with anyone kind enough to share it too.

Because that's what true friendship is—magic that grows bigger whenever you give it away.
