The Secret Spy Salad

Leo loved his magical iPhone more than anything. Grandpa had given it to him, saying it could do special tricks. But Leo didn't believe in magic — until the day it changed everything.

Leo sat at the kitchen table, pushing spinach around his plate. 'I hate spinach,' he grumbled. 'It's just boring green leaves.' His iPhone, sitting next to his plate, suddenly glowed with purple sparkles.

A tiny voice floated from it: 'Help! I need the spinach!'

Leo jumped. 'Who said that?'

'Look under the table,' the voice whispered.

Leo peeked under the kitchen table and gasped. His pet hamster, Sparky, was wearing a tiny silver suit and dark glasses. Sparky was pushing a piece of spinach toward him.

'I'm Agent Sparky,' the hamster squeaked. 'I'm a spy for the Secret Hamster Network. And I need your help!'

Leo's eyes widened. 'You can talk?'

'Only when it's important,' said Sparky. 'My friend Whiskers is sick in the garden. She needs special vitamins to get better. Those vitamins are hidden in spinach, but she won't eat it. I need you to discover a way to make spinach taste good so she'll get her vitamins and recover.'

Leo looked at the spinach with new eyes. 'You mean spinach has vitamins that can help hamsters get better?'

Sparky nodded solemnly. 'And not just hamsters. Spinach has vitamins that help everyone grow strong and healthy. But it has to taste good too.'

Leo thought hard. He grabbed his water glass and mixed it with the spinach. Then he added sweet strawberries from the fridge. He put everything in the blender and made a bright green smoothie with red swirls.

'Try this!' Leo said.

Sparky took a tiny sip and danced. 'It's delicious! Whiskers will love this!' He took the smoothie and scurried out the pet door.

The next morning, Leo found a tiny note under his pillow: 'Thank you, Leo! Whiskers is better! Your smoothie saved the day. — Agent Sparky'

Leo smiled and ate his spinach happily at breakfast. Maybe vegetables weren't so bad after all. Especially when they could help a secret spy hamster save the day!

From then on, Leo ate his spinach every day. Because you never know when a secret spy might need your help — or when you might need your vitamins to be strong enough to help them!
