The Secret Spy of Sunny Side Park

padelbaseballspy

Lily loved Saturday mornings at Sunny Side Park. While most kids ran to the baseball diamond, Lily hurried to the padel court—a game like tennis but with a shorter racket and a bouncy ball.

Coach Max was always there, smiling under his cap. But today was different. Lily arrived early and spotted Max peering through his special binoculars, not at the game, but at something hiding near the baseball fence.

"What are you looking at?" Lily asked.

Coach Max jumped. His blue eyes twinkled. "Lily! You're early. And you've discovered my secret."

"Are you a spy?" she whispered, eyes wide.

"I am," he whispered back. "But not the kind you think. I'm a Magical Creature Spy." He showed her through the binoculars. Near the baseball dugout, a tiny creature with wings like a dragonfly and fur like a kitten was nibbling on sunflower seeds.

"That's a Sniggle," Max explained. "They're very shy. My job is to make sure they stay safe and happy."

Lily's heart swelled with wonder. "Can I help?"

Max smiled. "You already have. Sniggles only show themselves to kind hearts. Now, are you ready for padel?"

Lily played her best game ever. When she hit a winning shot, something shiny caught her eye near the padel net—a tiny thank-you gift from the Sniggle. A perfect sunflower seed, polished like a jewel.

That day, Lily learned that sometimes the most magical secrets are hiding right in front of us, and that kindness is the best kind of spy mission.

Every Saturday after that, Lily arrived extra early. She and Coach Max would check on the Sniggle together, then play padel and baseball—the best spy team in Sunny Side Park.
