The Secret Sky Pool

Lila loved running through Sunflower Meadow, her bare feet pattering against the warm grass. Every morning after breakfast, she'd grab her orange juice—Mom called it her morning vitamin—and race outside to play.

One Tuesday, something strange caught her eye. A shimmering silver cable stretched from the old oak tree up, up, up into the clouds. It sparkled like liquid moonlight.

"Hello?" Lila called, tugging gently. The cable pulsed in her hand, warm and alive. Suddenly, a small wooden bucket descended from the clouds. Inside sat a tiny blue frog wearing a top hat.

"Hop aboard!" croaked the frog. "The pool opens at dawn!"

Lila stepped into the bucket, and WHOOSH—they soared upward! When they broke through the clouds, Lila gasped. A crystal pool floated among the clouds, its surface reflecting colors that didn't exist on earth.

"This is where stars come to swim," explained the frog, whose name was Fin. "But someone has stolen the Star Pearl. Without it, the stars sink instead of swim."

Lila's heart pounded. "I'll help!"

She found the pearl hidden under a grumpy cloud named Grumble, who thought stars made too much noise when they splashed. Lila sat with him and listened to his stories about how lonely it was being a storm cloud.

"Maybe stars could visit you sometimes," Lila suggested. "They tell great jokes."

Grumble's gray edges softened. He returned the Star Pearl, and the stars began swimming again—leaving trails of glitter wherever they dove. They taught Lila the Star Stroke, the Galaxy Glide, and the Moonbeam Splash.

When the silver cable lowered Lila back to her yard, she discovered her pocket full of star dust. Now, every morning with her vitamin juice, she sprinkles a pinch into her cereal. And sometimes, if you look closely, you can still see starlight sparkling in her smile.
